El Arenal is right in the Bay of Palma, between the municipalities of Llucamjor and Palma de Mallorca, on the southwestern part of the island. An exceptional location, just 15 km away from Palma and 7 km away from the airport, where you can enjoy a few days of relaxation with a wide range of leisure activities.
Our hotel in El Arenal, JS Paradise Sport, is located 300 metres from the marina, the Club Náutico S’Arenal, which is the start of Arenal Beach and Palma Beach.
Beaches
JS Paradise Sport is just 300 metres from El Arenal Beach, with its fine white sand and 4600 metres in length. El Arenal Beach has a pleasant promenade stretching over 4 km, where you can admire the whole city of Palma. It is very popular among cyclists and skaters. This beach area has a wide range of leisure options available, including bars, restaurants and shops.
Just 500 metres from de hotel, there is another smaller, quieter beach, Caló de Sant Antoni, and a few kilometres further, in the municipality of Llucmajor, you can find Cala Pi, surrounded by a beautiful pone forest, and Cala Braca, a rocky cove with deep blue waters. The latter two are recommended for snorkelling enthusiasts.
Natural spots
Very close to El Arenal is a noteworthy natural space in the surroundings of Cap Blanc, with one of the most incredible cliffs on the entire island, where the so-called “Marina” of Llucmajor is formed. It is an area of great natural and scenic value.
Llucmajor also boasts Mallorca’s most extensive network of cycle routes, with over 400 km of signposted trails, both inland and along the coast, offering views of the island of Cabrera and the inland farmland.
Leisure and sports
Those who love outdoor activities will find El Arenal the perfect destination for their holidays. The area is perfect for practising all kinds of water sports, such as sailing, kayaking, scuba diving, fishing or paddle surfing, with the Club Nàutic de S’Arenal just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The Son Antem golf course is only 10 km away and offers high-quality facilities for golf enthusiasts. And if you enjoy nature, in just a few minutes you will find more than 400 km of cycle routes in Llucmajor, ideal for exploring on foot or by bicycle.
JS Paradise Sport hotel is recommended for its centric location, just a stone’s throw from the entertainment areas, with nightclubs, bars, cafés and restaurants scattered throughout the 15 spas located almost on the beachfront. The most famous is Balneario 6.
For a fun day out in Palma, you can visit the Aqualand water park (750 m away), Palma Aquarium (4 km) and Marineland (26 km).
Heritage and culture
The El Arenal market takes place every Thursday morning in the centre of town. Here you will find typical local products and souvenirs to take home as a lovely memory of your time in Mallorca.
In Llucmajor you can appreciate a wide array of architectonic monuments, both civil and religious in nature. We recommend visiting the Talayotic settlement of Capocorb Vell, the Sanctuary of Nostra Senyora de Gracia (15th century); the monastery, cloister and church of Sant Bonaventura; and the parochial church of Sant Miquel (16th century).
And if you’re heading to the capital, don’t miss Palma’s Gothic Cathedral, located at the foot of the bay, the Majorcan courtyards, Bellver Castle, the Jewish quarter and the food markets of Olivar and Santa Catalina.
