Beaches and Coves of Porto Colom:
The coastline of Felanitx has numerous exotic virgin coves of exceptional beauty. The largest is Cala Marçal, which has all kinds of services. S´Arenal, near the lighthouse, is a smaller area. The rest of the difficult-to-access coves can be reached on boats which make excursions from the port.
Cala d’en Marçal: Located one kilometre from Porto Colom, Cala d’en Marçal is a spacious beach, surrounded by low cliffs which extend for one hundred metres along the beautiful dry river bed of the landscape. There is a sea inlet which widens as it approaches land, sheltered from the waves, just next to the mouth of the port.
At the end of the port, high pine trees offer their shelter so that swimmers can shade themselves from the sun, sharing a marvellous space with a low mountain which isolates the area from wind and shelters it from waves, making it ideal for relaxing tourism. This is why Cala d’en Marçal is a tourist area, having the largest beach of Porto Colom, mainly enjoyed by the guests of the nearby establishments such as JS Es Corso and JS Cape Colom, located a few kilometres away. Cala d’en Marçal is an obligatory excursion, with easy access by motorway and easy parking just metres from the sand.
Cala S’Arenal: Located in the middle of Porto Colom, and easily accessed by motorway, Cala S’Arenal is situated in one of the most scenic areas of Mallorca. Made up of two beaches which are hidden under a dense area of forest, its location next to rocks, surrounded by small boats on crystal clear waters, make it a Paradise for swimmers.
Cala Sa Nau: In the easy to access Cala Sa Nau, those who choose diving as an activity for relaxation during their holidays will find one of the most beautiful beaches of all of Porto Colom, surrounded by small and impressive cliffs, with white and red tones, crowned by pine trees, junipers and shrubs which provide shade and protection from the wind. The conditions of the sea are excellent for shallow diving.
Baños de Cleo: For the more adventurous, the Baños de Cleo is the combination of small natural rock coves and crystal clear waters, and a marvellous landscape near to the lighthouse. Unforgettable coves have been created by the erosion of the rocks, in which unparalleled tranquillity and relaxation can be enjoyed.
The waters of Porto Colom are ideal for free-diving, observing the large quantity of schools of fish which have been established in the area over the years.
